My journey to Strength & Conditioning is actually one that started off bumpy! After a total reconstructive surgery on my right knee, I allowed myself to walk in this slump of unhealthy lifestyle choices that increased not only my weight, but my lack of self-confidence. My husband took his first Strength & Conditioning class in January 2015 and I joined two months later. “Fran” was my first ever WOD and it kicked my butt! However, it instilled in me this drive I had not felt for years. After losing 75 pounds of unhealthy weight and seeing gains in my strength and overall fitness, I found that Strength & Conditioning was not only something I wanted to be part of but something I needed desperately in life. I learned how to use my body in ways that showed me strength was not just how much weight you have on a barbell, but how much you allow yourself to change to give yourself a better outcome. I love the drive and intensity that comes from Strength & Conditioning. I know how much it helped me change my life and that is something I want everyone to feel. Strength & Conditioning not only makes you a better athlete, but a better person overall. It was one of the best decisions ever made in my life!
